Our Story:

>  From Little To Land is an ambitious, fun, and humbling social experiment inspired by Kyle MacDonald, who once famously traded a red paperclip all the way up to a house. I never forgot his story. We wanted to create something new, meaningful and a little bit extraordinary.

How It Works:

> We’re reimagining the trade-up idea into a share-the-outcome experiment, testing how far trust and curiosity can really go.  Starting with something small and symbolic; one little wooden mushroom đźŤ„‍🟫, trading one swap at a time, up to something valuable. Each swap is completely voluntary and publicly documented on The Public Ledger.

There’s no set target or time limit, the project will continue naturally as long as trades happen. When the experiment reaches a meaningful point, the final item is sold and the total funds will be divided as follows:

⅓→ donated to Rewilding Britain , Mind  & the British Red Cross ,restoring nature, supporting mental health and providing humanitarian aid where it’s needed most.

⅓ → towards acquiring or restoring a small piece of land or building; simple, self-sustaining, and full of potential for future regenerative or creative projects.

⅓→ gifted equally among everyone who made a swap!

It’s a 3-way split, a social experiment. It’s a shared journey of trust and generosity, every swap gives something back: to charity, to us, and to the people who take part.

Guidelines:

> All we ask is that each swap carries a story, some meaning, or creative value, but we’ll welcome anything offered in genuine generosity or humour too! To keep From Little To Land fair, transparent, and sustainable, we’ve set a few simple guidelines:

UK Only â€” All swaps take place within the UK to minimise our COâ‚‚ footprint.

In-Person Trades â€” Swaps are made face-to-face to keep things real and personal.

Safety First â€” Meets are always in a safe public place.

Privacy & Consent â€” Participants agree to share only the contact details needed for communication about their swap. Personal data will be stored securely and never shared publicly without consent.

Transparency â€” Every swap is shared publicly and added to the open ledger for anyone to see.

Kindness â€” Be respectful, honest, and reliable. This is built on goodwill, not contracts.

Why We’re Doing It:

> We want to see if a chain of strangers can help turn something little into something life-changing, purely through trust and trade.

This is a voluntary social experiment; no financial investment or donation is required or requested at any stage.
